SCHOFIELD BARRACKS- Timmy Orlando from the Molokai Delegation deadlifts 405 pounds during the Special Olympics Powerlifting competition, at Martinez Gym, April 25. The event also included a squat competition. The Special Olympics philosophy and program shows that people with intellectual disabilities benefit from sports competition with those of equal abilities, encouraging social, mental, physical and spiritual growth and development. The Special Olympics-Hawaii softball competition is May 1, 6 a.m., at Wheeler Army Airfield softball fields. Call 943-8808, ext. 114 for more information.
