Have you, or someone you know, made a mess of his or her life? God says, “I will bring beauty for ashes.”

God has the power to take a “seed” that seems good for nothing and turn it around. When that seed is forgotten and covered in dirt, it dies. Then, from that death, springs new life.

The life of that seed will never be the same. Even if we were to look for the seed, we would not find it. It is gone, and new life has come from it.

Do you have anything that needs to just fall from you and die? God has a way to turn what needs to die off into something brand new and ever better.

For those who mourn because of the wrongs they have done and the sins they have committed, God says, “I will bring joy out of it.” He is the one that can “make a way where there seems to be no way.” Only God can do that.

He can take a tangled mess of a life, turn it around and transform it in such a way that you wouldn’t know that individual used to be a very different person.

How is this done?

When a commander signs an operation order, or OPORD, he is saying, “I want it to be done this way.” When Soldiers read an OPORD, they may not want to follow the order. They may want to create their own OPORD, and if they do, confusion is the outcome.

When we try to replace God’s way with our bad habit or addiction, the outcome will not be good. God wants us to trust him and follow his OPORD.

If we follow God’s OPORD, we can rest and not carry a heavy burden. God says, “For all you that are heavy laden, come to me, and I will give you rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

God can transform you.

If you say, “Lord, here I am. Forgive me, and help me forgive the wrongs done to me,” he can transform and change you. He can take mistakes and sins, turn them around and use them for his glory.

When you commit your life to God — putting the broken, stained, twisted pieces into his hand — he will transform your life into a thing of beauty.
