Fourth of July — Celebrate at the Fourth of July Spectacular, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., at Weyand Field (adjacent to Sills and Desiderio fields), Schofield Barracks.

Richardson Pool — This pool at Schofield Barracks is open 10 a.m.-3 p.m., July 4. Call 655-9698.

Free Hula Classes — The Native Hawaiian Liaison Office, U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii, welcomes all Soldiers and families to participate in free hula classes at Schofield Barracks and Aliamanu Military Reservation. Beginner classes are 5-6 p.m.; advanced classes are 6-7 p.m. Classes feature the different types of hula, fundamentals of hula steps, movement and posture. •Mondays, 5-7 p.m., Kalakaua Community Center, Schofield Barracks. (The July 4 hula class is cancelled due to the holiday. The normal schedule will resume July 11.

Creative Art Journaling — Learn scrapbooking techniques on a different level at the Schofield Barracks Arts and Crafts Center, 5:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m, every Tuesday and Thursday. Teens and adults are welcome. Cost is $30 for 10 sessions. Call 655-4202 to register.

All About Credit — This workshop is 9-10:30 a.m., July 7, Army Community Service, Schofield Barracks, and focuses on establishing good credit and what to do to raise your credit rating. Call 655-4227.

Texas Hold ‘em — Play at 6 p.m. every first Wednesday of the month at the Hale Ikena, Fort Shafter, or at 6 p.m. every third Thursday of the month, at the Tropics Recreation Center, Schofield Barracks. All ID card holders 18 and older are welcome; it’s free with no buy in. Call 655-5698.

Summer Reading Program — This year’s theme is “A Midsummer Knight’s Read” and runs now through July 16. Participants need to read at least one book a week and visit the library for one prize per week, while supplies last. Registration is mandatory, but participants can join anytime. Weekly story times at all libraries start at 10 a.m.; free weekly entertainment begins at 3 p.m. Call 655-8002, 438-9521 or 839-2821. The program is open to keiki, ages 3-5 in the “Read to Me” program; keiki, ages 6-12; teens, ages 13-18; and adults.

New Hours — Starting July 17, Outdoor Recreation at Schofield Barracks is expanding its Sunday hours to 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Starting July 18, ODR will be closed every Monday. Call 655-8522.

AFTB Instructor Course — Registration is underway for the Army Family Team Building Instructor Course, 5-9 p.m., August 9-12 and 15-16, Army Community Service, Schofield Barracks. Kids Bowl Free — Through July, the Fort Shafter and Schofield Barracks bowling centers are participating in a Kids Bowl Free program as a low-cost activity for children up to age 15. Parents must sign their children up at www.kidsbowlfree.com/BowlArmyHI and will then receive weekly coupons via email for two free games per child. Normal shoe rental rates apply. TAMC Physical Fitness Classes — Active duty Soldiers and their family members can show their military ID at Tripler Army Medical Center’s Physical Fitness Center to sign up for free physical classes. Cost for Army civilians is $4 per class or $25 per month. Call 433-6443.

No-Show Policy — Blue Star Card holders who register for an event and can’t attend need to cancel their reservation by noon the day before the event. Without cancellation, BSC holders will be considered no-shows, resulting in being placed on a wait list for the following month’s events. Blue Star Punch Card — Blue Star Card holders who attend BSC events will get a BSC Superstar punch card. Turn in completed punch cards for a free BSC T-shirt. Call 655-0002 or email sarah.chadwick@us.army.mil.

BSC Printer Station — The Blue Star Card printer station is available at Army Community Service located at the Aloha Center, Building 330, Clark Road, Fort Shafter. The printer station at the Schofield Barracks ACS is still available and unaffected by the move. Sgt. Yano Library, Schofield Barracks, also offers computer services, including Internet access and Microsoft software. Printing is available for a fee. Call 655-8002.

Vehicle Safety Inspection — Don’t forget to check your vehicle inspection sticker, located on its right-rear bumper. Is yours about to expire? Head to your nearest Auto Skills Center. Picture Framing — Learn customized framing at the Schofield Barracks Arts and Crafts Center. Cost for one session is $45 and includes instruction and materials. Framing is available daily, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Call 655-4202.

Homeschool PE Classes — Army Youth Services offers physical education for the homeschooled child, 10-11 a.m., at Aliamanu and Fort Shafter; call 836-1923. Schofield, Helemano and Wheeler Army Airfield classes are Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Call 655-6465.

Computer Lab Hours — The computer lab for Soldiers and family members at Army Community Service Center, Schofield Barracks, will be open as follows:

•Monday, Thursday and Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; and
•Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m.

Computers include Internet access, Microsoft software and Skype. Call 655-4227.
