USACE awards contract for new barracks

FORT SHAFTER — U.S Army Corps of Engineers-Honolulu District awarded a $35,275,888 firm-fixed-price contract, June 30.

The contract is to provide for the design and construction of a 228-personnel unaccompanied enlisted barracks facility at Schofield Barracks.

Absher Construction Company Inc., based out of Puyallup, Wash., which has an office in Honolulu, anticipates that portions of the project will be subcontracted to firms on Oahu, providing jobs to local workers.
