Community Survey — U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii will conduct a community-wide survey through July 31. The survey will gather customer feedback about the quality and importance of garrison services, and is open to all Soldiers, family members, retirees and civilians who use garrison services. Access at

Back-to-School Supplies — Operation Homefront-Hawaii is assisting military families and their children as they head back to school. Families of enlisted service members, E-6 and below, of all service branches, can register for free backpacks while supplies last. More than 500 backpacks will be distributed July 27 at Kalakaua Community Center, Schofield Barracks.

Online requests will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis. Register at Applicants will be notified about the pick-up time.

ACAP Career Fair — The Army Career and Alumni Program, or ACAP, will host a career fair, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 1, Room 123, Building 750, Soldier Support Center, Schofield Barracks. Recruiters from a variety of companies will be available. Call (808) 655-1028.

Evento Latino — This Spanish-speaking event for military families will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 4, Main Post Chapel, 790 McCornack Rd., Schofield Barracks. PWOC Kickoff Rally — Protestant Women of the Chapel, or PWOC, Pacific Region, will host a kickoff rally 9-11 a.m., Aug. 4, at Ka Makani Community Center, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

Preschool Registration — Parents can register for all classes that start Aug. 6-7, at the Armed Services YMCA, 1262 Santos Dumont, Wheeler Army Airfield. Two levels of preschool are offered:
•Parent Participation Preschool is a foundational program wherein children are introduced to a more structured learning environment that supports independence. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays, 9-11 a.m., for ages 2 1/2-3 1/2. Cost is $70 per month.
•Kinder-prep encourages children to explore academics and learn daily routines. Classes are 8:30-11:30 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, for ages 3 1/2-4 1/2 . Cost is $120 per month.

Children’s Waiting Room — The Armed Services YMCA Children’s Waiting Room offers on-site child care for healthy children, while their parents or siblings have medical appointments in any of the Schofield clinics or at Tripler Army Medical Center. No fee is charged for this service, but donations keep the programs running.

Monday-Friday hours for the Schofield Barracks Health Clinic Children’s Waiting Room are 8 a.m.-noon, and 1-4 p.m; TAMC hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Call (808) 624-5645 for SBHC, or (808) 833-1185 for TAMC.

Free Museum Entry — As part of the Blue Star Museum program, several museums around Oahu are offering free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from now through Labor Day. Participating museums include the Honolulu Museum of Art, the Hawaii State Art Museum and Iolani Palace.
