UH hosts UNLV in military night game

HONOLULU — The University of Hawaii Warrior football team will host UNLV in its annual “Military Night” game, Saturday, Nov. 24, at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium. Kick-off is 6 p.m.

For the game, the Warriors will don special red, white and blue uniforms and helmets provided by Under Armour. The action begins at 10 p.m. on Saturday and runs through Sunday, Dec. 9, at HawaiiAthletics.com.

The UH Marching Band will honor the military at halftime with God Bless the USA and God Bless America sung by Staff Sgt. Samuel Hesch from the 111th Army National Guard Band. Bands representing each military branch will also perform during halftime.

In addition, select wounded warrior honorary captains will lead each team onto the field; participate in the coin toss; and will be recognized at halftime and throughout the game for their bravery and courage. During pregame, the Navy League will present Key Spouse Awards to deserving individuals from each service. Hesch will also sing the national anthem.

Active, DOD civilians, reservists, and retired members of the military will receive 30 percent off select adult tickets (maximum of eight). A valid military identification card is required when purchasing tickets at the Stan Sheriff Center or the Aloha Stadium Box Office. Tickets are in special sections and supplies are limited.
