Mexico Travel Warning — Per U.S. Northern Command, all routine nonofficial travel (leave and pass) is prohibited to the states of Michoacan, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Sonora and Nayarit. Some exceptions apply, like emergency leave and passage aboard a cruise ship. Official DOD travel to the prohibited states is limited to mission essential travel only. Visit http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_5815.html; this State Department page should be reviewed by all DOD personnel considering travel to any location in Mexico; however, DOD travelers are reminded that DOD travel guidance per this directive and the DOD Foreign Clearance Guide take precedence. Travelers are strongly advised to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, a free service provided by the U.S. government to U.S. citizens who are traveling to, or living in, a foreign country. Shafter Road Closure — Construction affecting Arty Hill Road and Austin Road continues, with work scheduled to be completed July 5. Call (808) 835-4229.

Traffic and Outage Alerts — There will be contra-flowed traffic on Saturdays/training holidays, and times when the section of McCornack from Tidball Street to Cadet Sheridan Road will be closed on Saturdays or training holidays. The work should be done by Oct. 5. Call (808) 656-3272.

•A power outage will affect traffic lights at the intersections of Trimble and Cadet Sheridan, and McCornack and Cadet Sheridan, as well as the Class 6/furniture/military clothing sales (Building 3320) and First Hawaiian Bank from 7-9:30 a.m. Call (808) 656-0575.

•At Fort Shafter, Warner Road at Wilson Road (the Exchange intersection) will be closed for construction until June 28. Call (808) 835-4229.

•Helemano Military Reservation will see partial road closures between Mua Road and Kekona Road, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

The work will be performed in five phases. During all phases, outbound traffic must yi­eld to incoming traffic on Palaa Uka Pupukea Road. Call (808) 387-7251.

Modified Traffic Flow — Schofield’s Menoher Road between Montague Street and Sutton Street will be partially closed, with paving scheduled Wednesday. One lane will be closed for grinding/paving, and then the other lane will be closed. Call (808) 853-4541.

Pedestrian Bridge — A project to remove and replace the Fort Shafter pedestrian bridge begins, with completion expected Oct. 30. The existing parking lot, adjacent pedestrian bridge and nearby walkways will remain open during the duration of the project, except for no pedestrian access Aug. 26-Sept. 8. Call (808) 656-2525.

Furlough Closure — The Schofield Barracks Housing Services Office will be closed Thursdays until further notice due to sequestration.

FS HSO Closed — Fort Shafter’s Housing Services Office will be closed Fridays until further notice. This HSO and Schofield Barracks HSO will be open 8 a.m-5 p.m. the remaining four workdays. Call (808) 655-7399.

Wheeler Power Outage — All of Curtis and Sperry Loop’s units between Liliienthal and Fruchey roads, including both sides of Vought Avenue, will see a power outage from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Affected units are 602-606, 610-636, 638, 640, 642, 644, 700-722, 724-735. Call (808) 655-1022.

AFCEA Luncheon — The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) hosts a luncheon, July 9, at the Hale Ikena Club, Fort Shafter, with guest speaker Marine Brig. Gen. CIF Closure —The Schofield Central Issue Facility will be closed all week for an inventory. CIF will reopen on July 29. All emergencies and special circumstances outside of core hours will continue to be handled on a case-by-case basis. Call (808) 655-8120.

Traffic Alert — Fort Shafter’s Loop Road and Stream Road will be fully closed for construction. Access will be allowed for local traffic only on Loop Road heading northwest from Suehiro Road up to the full lane road closure and only on Stream Road heading southwest from Signal Street up to the full lane road closure.
