Oahu lane closures for the weekend of June 13-15

PLEASE NOTE:
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
All projects are weather permitting.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) HONOLULU (NIGHT/WEEKEND WORK)
Full closures on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between Middle Street and Ward Avenue Overpass on Sunday night June 15, through Friday morning, June 20, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for the H-1 Rehabilitation Project.

The H-1 Rehabilitation project will upgrade the freeway sub-surface and asphalt to provide a longer-lasting, smooth riding surface, provide an additional lane in each direction, install upgraded lighting, improve drainage, and install glare screens along the median.

2) AIRPORT (NIGHT/WEEKEND WORK)
Left lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Hickam AFB/Naval Base Off-Ramp (Exit 15) and Airport Off-Ramp (Exit 16) from 9 p.m., Friday night, June 13, through 9 p.m., Sunday night, June 15, for viaduct deck repairs.

Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

3) WAIMALU TO WAIPAHU (NIGHT/WEEKEND WORK)
Two left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from 11 p.m., Saturday night June 14, through 12 noon, Sunday, June 15, for road resurfacing.

Improvements for the PM Contraflow include highway deck repairs and road widening from Waimalu to Waikele. An extra lane will be added from the Waimalu On-Ramp to the Waipahu Off-Ramp and from the H-1/H-2 Split to the Waikele Off-Ramp.

4) KALIHI (WEEKEND WORK)
H-1 westbound and eastbound On-Ramp access from Kalihi Street will be closed on Sunday, June 15, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for repaving work. The northbound loop for the H-1 Freeway eastbound On-Ramp access will remain open.

5) EWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Lane closed on the Kunia/Waipahu/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 5) in the eastbound direction between the Kapolei/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 3) and Waikele/Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 7) on Sunday, June 15, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., for utility replacements.

— ALA MOANA BOULEVARD —

1) KAKAAKO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

NIGHT WORK:
•Lane closure on Ala Moana Boulevard in the westbound direction between Kamakee Street and Queen Street, on Sunday, June 15, through Thursday morning, June 19, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for utility installations.

•Lane closures on Ala Moana Boulevard in the eastbound direction between Cooke Street and Kamakee Street on Sunday, June 15, through Thursday morning, June 19, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly, for utility installations.

14 / Saturday

Lane Closures — They take place at Trimble and Carpenter intersection, Schofield Barracks, in order to perform traffic signal modifications. An open lane will always be open in all directions during construction. Lane closures will be in effect to July 11. Work hours are weekdays, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and weekends, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Lanes will be covered with steel plates to reopen after working hours.

 

15 / Sunday

FS Outage — An electrical outage is scheduled for Fort Shafter, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., to replace a couple of rotten utility poles. Buildings1535, 1575, 1585, 1599, 1604, Funston Housing and Nan, Inc. will be affected. Note, the location of the outage is only a best estimate. Depending on field conditions, the extent of the outage area may increase. Others near and around the outage area (below) should be prepared for an outage in this event.

16 / Monday

Less Funston — One lane of Funston Road will be closed until June 20. The entrance to Ponciano Drive and the parking lot adjacent to Takata Field will be closed. Contractor work hours are 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

 

23 / Monday

Last Phase — Lane control will be implemented along Shafter’s Rice Street, between Herian Place and the Rice Street Bridge/Stream, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., during the final phase of underground utility installation.

 

More Funston — One lane of Fort Shafter’s Funston Road will be closed. The parking lot adjacent to Takata Field will remain closed. Contractor work hours are 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to expect delays. Work is expected to conclude June 27.

 

25 / Wednesday

HMR Outage — Helemano Military Reservation sees an outage, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., to install photovoltaic systems. The locations impacted may not be specific and all-inclusive; see the map and information below.

30 / Monday

Takata Field — A contractor will be installing telecomm duct lines on Fort Shafter’s Takata Field. The parking lot adjacent to the field will remain closed.

Schofield Outage — Power will be off on Mellichamp Road, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for work on traffic signals. Check the area in red for impacted buildings.

Ongoing

 

Kunia Gate — A continuing 24-hour road closure on Wright Avenue remains until July 7 to work on the Kunia Gate inbound lanes. Vehicles from Lyman Gate, Schofield, will be contra flowed to the exit-bound lane to enter Wheeler. All vehicles exiting WAAF will be detoured to Kawamura Gate.

 

Park Place — A maintenance and repair project of a duct line from manholes MH-60 (next to Glennan Road, Bldg. 689) to MH-004 (Quad F parking lot) projects requires a parking lot closure next to Bldg. 689 and partial closure of the parking lot next to Quad F until June 18.

 

Road Closure — A full road closure of Schofield Barracks’ Lyman Road (between Mellichamp and Trimble roads) continues until July 2. Local access to South Range and the motor pool will be permitted via Lyman from the Mellichamp side. No walkway will be maintained along Lyman Road.

 

Speed Bumps — A full road closure of Schofield’s Leilehua Avenue at a portion near Kline and a portion near Baldwin continues; it’s scheduled to finish June 23.

June 24-July 17 will see one more full road closure fronting Bldg. 645.

 

Road Closed — There will be full road closures at Fort Shafter Flats’ Loop and Annex roads for utility and flood mitigation structures installation. Loop Road will be closed in both directions, from the Loop and Stream roads intersection to just west of the gate for Bldg. X1508.

The primary detour for Loop Road will be Mokumoa Street. Annex Road will be closed in both directions, from the Loop and Stream Road intersection to the intersection of Signal Street and Stream Road.

Closures for both Loop and Annex roads will be through Feb. 28, 2015.
