Traffic Report

Traffic Report lists closed roads, limited routes, construction detours and noise advisories received by press time from Army and Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) sources.

Motorists in affected areas are advised to use caution, to observe all signs and traffic personnel and to expect delays.

Sargent — Resurfacing work on Schofield’s Sargent Road, from Glennan Road to the three-way stop sign at Bldg. 695, will pause for the holiday and resume tomorrow for completion, barring weather delays.


7 / Monday

Patch Gate — Fort Shafter will see traffic modifications that cause a closure of Patch Gate until July 20.


TAMC Outage — Tripler Army Medical Center, Bldgs. 102, 104 and E104, and Krukowski Road, will have a power outage, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., for electrical equipment removal.


8 / Tuesday

Revised Outage — Fort Shafter Flats will experience a power outage, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., to replace utility poles. Buildings 1535, 1575, 1585, 1599, 1604, Funston Housing and the Nan Inc. trailer will be affected. The locations of the outage are only a best estimate; places near and around the outage area should be prepared. A similar power outage is scheduled July 15.


10 / Thursday

Exercise — The garrison will conduct a full-scale exercise, July 10, on Schofield’s East Range and July 11, on Wheeler Army Airfield, to test first responders and the garrison’s Emergency Operations Center’s actions with real-world emergency scenarios. The East Range and Wheeler communities can expect temporary road closures, exercise announcements on the mass notification systems and fire engines/ambulances on the roadways.


12 / Saturday

Schofield Outage — Power will be off on Mellichamp Road, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for work on traffic signals. Check the area in red for impacted buildings. Times and affected locations are a best estimate, and depending on field conditions, additional time may be required to complete the outage, and the extent of the outage area may increase. Buildings near and around the outage area should be prepared.


14 / Monday

TAMC Closure 1 — There will be a 24-hour road closure of the left lane on Tripler’s Jarrett White Road for construction; the right lane will be closed July 15-26.


AMR Closures — Aliamanu Military Reservation will have several traffic modifications, at Skyview Loop and Aliamanu Drive for underground utilities work. All work will be done 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

•Sky View Loop will be completely closed between Nim Place and Ixora Place (Nim Place and Ixora Place will still be accessible) until July 25,

•Aliamanu will be completely closed at Ama Road, July 28-Oct. 6.

•Aliamanu between Ama and Okamura Street will have one-lane traffic control between Ama and Okamura, Oct. 7, to Dec.1.

•Aliamanu will be completely closed between Okamura and Rim Loop, Dec. 2-Feb. 2, 2015.


Lane Closure — Schofield’s Lyman and Mellichamp roads near buildings 1670 and 1607 are scheduled for modified traffic flow, Monday-Saturday, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The closed lane will be re-opened for traffic after the workday. The work will be performed in three stages; watch “Traffic Report” for updates.


21 / Monday

Warner Road — All weekdays until July 25 and again Aug. 7-11, construction is scheduled on Fort Shafter’s Warner Road and adjacent to Pierce Street. A section of Warner Road and several parking stalls along Pierce Street will be closed as shown on the map.


Fisher Fissure — Tripler’s Kurkowski Road is scheduled for a partial closure near Fisher House buildings I and II, and restricted to one lane access until Aug. 22. Phase I will occupy the North end of Krukowski at the entrance to the Fisher Homes, July 23-Aug. 8; Phase II will occupy the Federal Fire parking lot, Aug. 11-22.


28 / Monday

TAMC Closure 2 — The outbound lane of Tripler’s Krukowski Road will be closed for construction until July 29. The inbound lane is scheduled to be closed July 29-Aug. 11.



 Bridging the Kahauiki — Single lane closures of Shafter’s Kahauiki Stream Bridge will continue until July 14.


Lane of Lyman — One lane is closed at Schofield’s Lyman Road near Kaiona Avenue, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., until July 8, for paving and installing a concrete curb. There will be no work on Independence Day.


Kunia Gate — Construction on the inbound lane of Wheeler Army Airfield’s Kunia Gate will continue until July 7. HECO Gate, adjacent to Wheeler Elementary, will be open weekdays, 6 a.m.-6 p.m., for outbound traffic only. The gate will be closed on weekends and holidays. For traffic inbound on Wright Avenue from Kawamura Gate, note the temporary stop sign at Wright and Petersen Court.


Trimble & Carpenter — Lane closures at Schofield’s Trimble and Carpenter intersection will be in effect until July 11. Work hours are weekdays, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and weekends, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Lanes will be covered with steel plates to reopen after working hours.


Speed Bumps — A road closure of Schofield’s Leilehua Avenue fronting Bldg. 645 continues until July 17.


Road Closed — There will be full road closures at Fort Shafter Flats’ Loop and Annex roads for utility and flood mitigation structures installation until Feb. 28, 2015.
