Traffic Report lists road, construction and noise advisories received by press time from Army and Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) sources.

Today

Extension of Modified Traffic Flow at Aleshire Avenue, Schofield
Barracks — The road closure at Aleshire Avenue, near Bldg.s 2027 and 2087, for utility installation, will be extended due to unforeseen site conditions during
trenching. Traffic will continue to be redirected to alternate routes through
Monday, November 10th. The contractor will have appropriate signs and
barrier for closing each end of Aleshire Avenue.

 

Lyman VPC — Construction work on the Lyman Vehicle Processing Center is expected to be concluded by close of business. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate gate entrances during this period to help reduce traffic congestion.

 

Lauhala — There will be a one-lane closure near the entrance to Wheeler’s Wili Wili housing for utility installation. The area north of Wili Wili housing and old Airdrome Road will be restricted to one-lane traffic until 3:30 p.m.

 

Paalaa Uka Pupukea — The second phase of construction that began yesterday, causing lane closures on Paalaa Uka Pupukea Road, Helemano Military Reservation, will continue through Nov. 7th. All vehicles will be contra flowed into the open lane while entering or exiting HMR via traffic signal lights.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Airport Off-Ramp (Exit 16) and the Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from 6 p.m., on Saturday night, October 31, through midnight Monday morning, November 3. All ramps to and from the airport will remain open.

Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

 
— H-3 FREEWAY —

1) AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Lane closures on all On and Off-Ramps at the Halawa Interchange on the H-3 Freeway to the Airport Viaduct in both directions from Sunday night, November 2, through Friday morning, November 7, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for utility installations.

 
— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

1) MILILANI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Full road closure on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue on Sunday, November 2, through Friday morning, November 7, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for road reconstruction, resurfacing and installation of striping and markers.

General traffic will be re-routed to H-2 freeway but local traffic access for Kipapa Gulch residents has been coordinated to be escorted through the project site as needed. Advisory message boards have been placed near Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue with the work schedule.

 
— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

1) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on Nimitz Highway in the westbound direction between Elliott Street and Main Street from 6 p.m. Saturday night, October 31, through 12 a.m., Monday morning, November 3, as a safety precaution due to deck repairs happening above.

— VINEYARD BOULEVARD —
1) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two lanes closed on Vineyard Boulevard in the westbound direction between Olomea Street and Palama Street on Sunday, November 2, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., for road repaving work.

1 / Saturday

Power Outage — Schofield’s Mellichamp Road will experience a power outage, 7 a.m.-4 p.m., to install traffic signals.

The location of the outage is only a best estimate. The extent of the area may increase. Structures near the area should be prepared for an outage in this event.

 

11 / Tuesday

Kahauiki Kontinues — Beginning Veterans Day, 24 hour, one-lane closures are scheduled at the Kahauiki Stream Bridge. Intermittent, hourlong, full-bridge closures will also take place, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Closures start at Funston Road and Kahauiki Stream Bridge, ending at the intersection of Annex Road and Kahauiki Stream Bridge. The next day of intermittent closures takes place Nov. 27.

This project will continue with intermittent closures until Feb. 16, 2015; see future Traffic Reports for updates.

 

Bonney Repaving — There will be lane closures at Fort Shafter’s Bonney Loop, between Funston Road and the corner at Bldg. 515, in order to repave the road. Traffic will be one way for the lane that remains open.

The lane closures will be performed weekdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m, until Nov. 17 (excluding Veterans Day).

 

22 / Saturday

Modified Traffic Flow — Both outbound lanes on Trimble Road (PT side) will be closed, 6:30-8 p.m., to support the Turkey Trot 5K. Trimble outbound lanes will be closed from Cadet Sheridan to Mellichamp Street. Call 656-5369.
