Benefits Season — The Federal medical benefits open season began Monday and continues until Dec. 8. Additional information related to benefits options, such as health, dental or vision insurance coverage for employees

and family members, may also be found at www.opm.gov/healthcare-insurance/open-season.

 

Mail-Order Pharmacy — For the fifth consecutive year, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy has scored the highest in overall satisfaction in the J.D. Power National Pharmacy Study, Mail-Order segment.

This study, conducted annually, measures satisfaction among consumers who filled a mail-order prescription within the last 90 days. Ten commercial organizations were also included in the study.

Last Call for CFC — Today, the 2014 Combined Federal Campaign concludes. If you wish to pledge to the charities of your choice, fill out your pledge card and return it to your unit CFC representative or visit www.cfc-hawaii.org.

Online contributions are easy and a Hawaii-specific charity list is available. All pledge cards must be returned to your unit CFC representative before close of business.

 

Directory Update — Today is the suspense to update your unit’s information for the 2015 Hawaii telephone directory. All unit telecommunications officers should provide their unit’s updated contact information to 30th Network Enterprise Center reps.

Be sure to notify the 30th NEC if no changes are required. Call 656-8072/0492.

USPS Cyber Intrusion — This week, the Thrift Savings Plan advised savers that the cyber intrusion, experienced by the U.S. Postal Service, doesn’t affect TSP accounts. If you’re a Postal employee and need additional information, call USPS Human Resources at 1-877-477-3273 and choose option 5 (option 1 for TDD/TTY).

As a reminder, you can always visit the TSP Security Center for information regarding online security.

 

VA Women — The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Center for Women Veterans announced an agreement with the Center for American Women and Politics, a unit of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, to increase women veterans’ leadership and career opportunities, which will benefit the nation’s workforce and address women veterans’ growing needs.

Women veterans represent one of the fastest growing segments of the veterans population — about 10 percent of the total 22 million veterans in this country. Today there are an estimated 2.2 million female veterans.

The Center for Women Veterans participates in collaborative initiatives with federal/state/local governmental and nongovernmental stakeholders to improve opportunities for women veterans.
