Brig. Gen. Patrick Sargent, commander, Pacific Regional Medical Command (PRMC), and Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Luciano, PRMC senior enlisted adviser, traveled to the Korean Theater of Operations (KTO), Dec. 7-11, 2014, to further assess the posture and distribution of Army Health System (AHS) capabilities throughout the Asia-Pacific Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Sargent conducted office calls with the 65th Medical Brigade commander, the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) surgeon, and the 8th Army commanding general, Lt. Gen. Bernard Champoux.

During the visit, the PRMC leaders developed a common understanding of joint medical planning and identified potential opportunities for improved synchronization.

According to Sargent, the KTO visit improved his overall situational understanding and will enable him to “medically” set the theater in support of U.S. Army-Pacific and Pacific Command.
