 Today

HNL Restrictions — HDOT Airports Division is restricting access to various areas fronting the Honolulu International Airport overseas terminal during nighttime hours of 10 p.m.-5 a.m., nightly. The restricted areas are necessary for public safety and the result of safety concerns expressed by airport employees, stakeholders and travelers.

Access will be restricted to authorized personnel only. The areas closed follow:

•Level 1 (baggage claim): Includes the international arrivals tour group area, baggage claims E-H, and the Diamond Head tour group area. Baggage claims serving nighttime flights will be opened for passengers until flight operations are complete.

•Level 2 (ticketing lobbies): Includes the international arrivals tour group area and ticketing lobbies 4-8. Lobbies serving nighttime flights will be opened for passengers until flight operations are complete.

 

 HDOT reports Oahu lane closures for the weekend:

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) WAIMALU TO WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Multiple lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from 8 p.m., Saturday night, Mar. 21, through 6 p.m., Sunday, Mar. 22, for deck widening and concrete pours.

•Three right lanes will be closed from 8 p.m., Saturday night, Mar. 21, through 10 a.m., Sunday morning, Mar. 22.

•Two right lanes will be closed on Sunday, Mar. 22, from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m.

•One right lane will be closed on Sunday, Mar. 22, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in both directions at the H-1/H-2 Merge between the Waipahu Street Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass on Sunday night, Mar. 22, through Friday morning, Mar. 27, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project.

3) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from 9 p.m., Friday night, Mar. 20, through 12:01 a.m., Monday morning, Mar. 23. All ramps will remain open.

Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.

Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

4) PEARL CITY TO SALT LAKE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Airport Off-Ramp (Exit 16) on Sunday, Mar. 22, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for pavement marking installations.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

1) MILILANI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
24-hour shoulder lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the northbound direction between Lanikuhana Avenue and Kipapa Street on Sunday, Mar. 22, through Friday, Mar. 27, for bus pad installations.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

1) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on Nimitz Highway in the westbound direction between Catlin Drive and Aolele Street from 9 p.m. Friday night, Mar. 20, through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, Mar. 23, as a safety precaution due to deck repairs happening above.

21 / Saturday

FS Outage — A power outage will impact the following Fort Shafter buildings, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.: FS Housing, Parks Road, Units: 1325, 1327, 1357, 1358, 1361, 1362, 1365, 1366, 1369, 1370, 1373, 1374, pump house, 1337.

 

26 / Thursday

WAAF Outage — A power outage will impact Wheeler Army Airfield, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Housing units Wili Wili and Sargeant Street will be affected. The outage is required to support electrical hook-up for a project.

 

27 / Friday

Stream & Bridge — There was an extension of the full road closure of Stream Road on Fort Shafter. The road will be closed in both directions, from the intersection of Stream and Loop roads to the intersection of Stream and Kahauiki Stream Bridge.

The primary detour for the Stream Road Closure will be Mokumoa Street. Intermittent, one-hour, full-bridge closures will occur 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., today and on the following dates: March 27, April 3.

 


April 18

Schofield Outage — Proposed full power outages are scheduled, still to be confirmed with HECO, for 8-10 a.m and 4-6 p.m.

 

June

6 / Saturday

DFACs — A power outage is scheduled, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., to support Schofield Barracks’ Castner Substation renovation project. The Bronco Cafe and Warrior Inn dining facilities will be impacted. Only the Sustainment Bistro K-Quad DFAC will open for these dates. Visit www.garrison.hawaii.army.mil/logistics/services.htm.

 

Ongoing

 

Airdrome Road — There will be a one-lane closure on Airdrome Road, Wheeler Army Airfield, from the Hangar 1020 area to the Sewer Treatment Plant, for utility installation work, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, through April 24.

Both lanes will be open to traffic after 3:30 p.m. and until 8 a.m. the following morning.

 

Modified AMR Traffic — This is a project update for Aliamanu Military Reservation. All work takes place 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

  • Skyview Loop will be completely closed between Nim Place and Ixora Place until April 15, due to underground utilities work. The dates have changed for this area of the project to be redesigned.
  • Aliamanu Drive between Ama Road and Okamura Street. Dates have changed because work begins simultaneously in this area.
  • Aliamanu Drive between Okamura Street and Rim Loop. Aliamanu Drive will be completely closed between Okamura Street and Rim Loop till April 15, for underground utilities work.
