WHEELER ARMY AIRFIELD — The 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, celebrated the 32nd Army Aviation Week, April 20-24.

“It was a well-earned week of camaraderie and team building,” said Col. Kenneth Hawley, commander, 25th CAB. “We kicked it off with our annual CAB run across the airfield, ending with a validation of our bird bath to minimize corrosion of our Soldiers in formation.”

Soldiers participated in a variety of team and individual events including the first Wheeler Runway Run 5K race, softball and football tournaments, and the Army Aviation Association of America Golf Tournament Scholarship fundraiser, which raised over $7,000 in scholarship funds for the Aloha Chapter. The week concluded with an organizational day and a well-earned day off, said Hawley.

Army Aviation Week gave the 25th CAB Soldiers time to take a break from the fast pace of everyday work to celebrate their craft, and enjoy time with their comrades and families.

“Just seeing the little daughters and sons having fun doing what my profession is felt pretty good,” stated CW2 Nathaniel Foreman, Kiowa Aviator, Fox Troop, 2-6th Cavalry.
