Hawaii-State-SealOahu lane closures for the weekend of Dec. 4-6 A

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) on Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for pavement striping and overlay work.

·        Two right lanes closed from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
·        Three right lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass for the rail project.

·        Westbound lanes closed Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
·        Eastbound lanes closed Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly.

The number of lanes closed will vary depending on the location of the roadwork.

3) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project.

— H-2 FREEWAY —
1) WAHIAWA TO MILILANI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Alternating lane closure on the H-2 Freeway in the southbound direction between Leilehua Road Overpass and Mililani Off-Ramp (Exit 5) at the vicinity of Waikakalaua Bridge on Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Tuesday morning, Dec. 8, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge joint repairs.

— H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY —

1) MOANALUA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Lane closures on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the westbound direction between the Middle Street Overpass and the Halawa/Aiea Interchange on Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly, for pavement marking installations.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

1) NANAKULI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two lanes closed on Farrington Highway in the southbound direction between Haleakala Avenue and Nanakuli Avenue on Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for sewage installations. Traffic will be contraflowed in the northbound lanes.

2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two lanes closed on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and the Kamehameha Highway Overpass, for the rail project.

·        Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
·        Friday night, Dec. 11, through Saturday morning, Dec. 12, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

3) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction on Friday night, Dec. 11, through Saturday morning, Dec. 12, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. for the rail project.

4) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound on-ramp to the H-1 Freeway on Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project.

5) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND WORK)
Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Farrington Highway this week at various locations.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

1) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations.

·        24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Kaonohi Street.
·        24/7 lane closures in both directions between Pali Momi Street and Honomanu Street.
·        Lane closure in the westbound direction between Lipoa Place and Pali Momi Street.
·        Lane closures in the eastbound direction between Honomanu Street and Salt Lake Boulevard, Monday through Friday.

2) WAHIAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Karsten Thot Bridge

Karsten Thot Bridge


Single lane closure on the Karsten Thot Bridge on Kamehameha Highway between Whitmore Avenue and Kilani Avenue on Sunday night, Dec. 6, through Friday morning, Dec. 11, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for bridge repairs. Traffic will be contraflowed through the remaining open lane. The bridge clearance will be reduced from 14′-4″ to 12′-0″ until May 2016.

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY —

1) KANEOHE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
24-hour closure of the truck escape ramp on the Likelike Highway in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the H-3 Freeway Overpass and the Kahekili Highway Off-Ramp on Friday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, Dec. 6, for road repairs.

 
— MIDDLE STREET —

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Alternating lane closure on Middle Street in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway on Friday night, Dec. 4, through Saturday morning, Dec. 5, and Monday night, Dec. 7, through Saturday morning, Dec. 12, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction project.

There will also be a 24/7 southbound median lane closure and sidewalk closure on the west side of Middle Street. Signage will be posted instructing pedestrians to use the east sidewalk.

7 / Monday

Phase 3 — Schofield’s Leilehua Avenue is closed, seven days a week, in phases in order to reconstruct the road. Phase 3, between McCornack and the Stoneman Field Road, goes from today until Dec. 11.

The lanes between Leilehua and Waianae Avenue that fall within the closed portions of Leilehua will be made two-way for residents only. On these lanes, there will be no parking in the Leilehua bound side of the road and no parking within 100 feet from Leilehua Avenue. The no parking area will be used for cars to turn around.

 

14 / McMahon — There will be a one-lane closure at Schofield’s McMahon Road, weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., until Dec. 28. Traffic will be stopped for pedestrians to walk around work area.

 

Leilehua — Top lift paving and striping will be performed, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., until Dec. 17. The contractor will have appropriate safety signs and barriers when the parking lot closes.

 

Crater Rim Loop — There’s a partial road closure at Aliamanu Military Reservation along Crater Rim Loop for new utility pole and underground utility installation that began Wednesday. The westbound lane will be closed for underground utility work 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., excluding holidays, until Dec. 31.

 

Phase III Flow — Traffic is restricted access on Schofield’s Trimble Road until Jan. 15, 2016, for the third phase of a project for utility installation and curb/sidewalk upgrade. Traffic control will coordinate traffic.

 

Full Closure — A full road closure on Schofield’s Waianae Avenue (South Corridor) between Generals Loop and Jecelin Street continues, weekdays, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., until Christmas. During this closure, Waianae Avenue (North) between Generals Loop and Jecelin Street will be designated for two-way traffic.

During nonworking hours, weekends and holidays, a right lane closure will take effect on Waianae Ave (South Corridor) between Generals Loop and Charlton Street, Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m.-8 a.m., and weekends, beginning Friday evenings, at 3:30 p.m. and ending Monday morning at 8 a.m.

Waianae Avenue traffic patterns will not be altered during this lane closure. Traffic control will alternate between the full road closure and right lane closure until Dec. 25.

 

Puakika — The westbound lane of AMR’s Puakika Street is closed for utility pole replacement through Dec. 11.

 

Ongoing

 

Wilson Road — There are intermittent road closures, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Fort Shafter’s Wilson Road, near Bldg. 420, the Post Office and the intersection at Montgomery Drive, until Dec. 20.

Traffic on Warner Road headed towards the PX will be detoured onto Pierce Street between Bldgs. 435 and 438, and from the PX headed toward Warner Road.

Traffic will be detoured onto Montgomery Drive. Traffic on Montgomery Drive headed towards the PX parking lot will not be affected.

 

Long Construction — A partial, modified traffic flow and road closure near Schofield’s Nehelani for utility installation continues. The area near the loading docks and the parking lot between Bldgs. 2060, 2070 and 2071 are restricted though Dec. 28.

The work will be performed in phases. Parking is limited during closure.
