Today

Click It or Ticket — Hawaii’s annual Click It or Ticket capaign runs through Sunday to remind all drivers and passengers to buckle up. The goal of the campaign is to save lives through seat belt use. Law enforcement agencies will be stepping up their enforcement activities during the Click It or Ticket mobilization period, taking a no-excuses approach to seat belt law enforcement.

 

TAMC — A road closure for Jarrett-White Road continues weekdays, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., until June 17 at Tripler Army Medical Center to restore damage to the road surface, curb and gutter. Emergency vehicles will have access through the closure.

Lane Closure — One lane is closed at Schofield’s Menoher Road, between Hewitt and Parrish Street, weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., until June 22. (No holiday work is scheduled.) The additional work is for a water line connection at Menoher Road.

During this time, work will include water line connection and curb and cutter pour and placement. Cones and flag personnel will be on-site for this work. Traffic will be stopped for pedestrians to walk around the work area.

Lane Closure — There is a lane closure on Schofield’s Sargent Street next to Bldg. 690, for water main excavation. Sargent will be restricted to one-lane access until June 23. During all construction, the contractor will have all appropriate signs and barriers for closing each side of the roadway.

  • Phase II: June 2-9,
  • Phase III: June 9-21, and
  • Phase IV: June 21-23.

Cool PM — The garrison’s Public Works Air Conditioner Shop will conduct preventive maintenance on all of Schofield Barracks’ cooling towers before the summer to help prevent trouble calls. Work will be performed 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

During this maintenance, the cooling will be off in K Quad. No building should be affected, but it helps feed buildings 772, 773, 774, 776, 777, 778, 779, 780 and 783.

 

Power Outage IconFSF & AMR Outages — A flood mitigation structures project will require an electrical outage, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., that will impact the residents at Funston Loop Military Housing and the majority of tenants/users at Fort Shafter Flats (including, but not limited to, Bldgs. 1575, 1580, 1598 and 1604. See maps of the outage areas at www.hawaiiarmyweekly.com).

Also, Aliamanu Military Reservation will have an outage, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., affecting the chapel center and all houses on the following streets: Begonia, Loop, Paperbark Lane, Croton Street, Kiawe Lane, Lilikoi Lane, Croton Street, Gardenia Lane, Durian Lane, Pohina Lane, Hilo Holly Lane, Oleander Street, Durian Lane, and houses on Bougainvillea Loop between both Croton Street intersections.

Phase 8 Closures — There will be one-lane roads and road closures affecting drivers traveling on Schofield’s McMahon Road, Akolea Drive, Beaver Road, Hawaii Street, Molokini Street and Oahu Street for replacing overhead power lines.

Roads will be reduced to one lane of traffic at each utility pole location being worked on for that day and various roads will be closed. Road closures will last approximately 5-10 minutes.

The next phase of this project begins July 5.

 

11 / Saturday

Cool Finish – The last air conditioner preventive maintenance on Schofield Barracks’ cooling towers will be performed, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. During maintenance, the cooling will be off in the following buildings: 1500, 1501, 1502 and 1503. Also, GTA, South Range.

No buildings will be impacted, but this will help feed buildings 1400, 1401, 1403, 1404, 1405 and 1406.

Power Outage GraphicPower Outages — The following buildings along Mathews Ave., Schofield Barracks, will be without power, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., to install an electrical transformer: 2026, 2027, 2029, 2031, 2032, 2033, 2034, 2098, 3030, 2037, 2038 and 2040.

Also, Aliamanu has an outage scheduled, same hours, affecting the Child Development Center, community gym, youth center and the fitness center.

 

20 / Monday

Partial Closure — Bldg. 752 will have a partial parking lot closure June 20-July 13 in order to repave the lot. It will be in effect 24/7 and accessible from Reilly Avenue or Menoher Road.

Intermittent lane closures will occur on the eastbound lane of Reily and the southbound llane of Memoher from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Lanes will only be closed when contractors are working in the area.

 

Ongoing

 

Kolekole Flow — There is a partial road closure of Kolekole Avenue fronting the Schofield Inn for the construction of drainage improvements to the area. The westbound traffic of Kolekole will be detoured onto Trimble Road northbound until Cadet Sheridan Road, where a left turn will be taken onto Cadet Sheridan southbound until it is returned to Kolekole. This detour will be in effect until Aug. 31, weekdays, 7 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

 

Revised Kubo Flow — A segment of Shafter’s Kubo Street (Area W.2) is intermittently closed from today until June 10. While Area W.2 is intermittently closed, Kubo Street will remain a one-way street. Traffic coming from Funston Road will be allowed to detour through the adjacent parking lot to access Richardson Street.

 

Wisser Road — There are intermittent road and parking lot closures at Shafter’s Wisser Road (near Richardson Theater), weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., until Sept. 2, for the installation of a new water main line. Wisser will be closed between Funston Road and Bonney Loop until June 24. Intermittent closures will follow from June 27 to Sept. 2.

WISSER

The intersections of Strong and Pierce streets will be restricted to local traffic only. Richardson Theater and the adjacent parking lots will remain accessible by means of Casey Street.

Westbound traffic on Wisser Road heading towards Funston Road will be detoured through Bonney Loop. Eastbound traffic from Funston Road, heading towards the Exchange and Patch Gate, will be detoured through the west end of Bonney.

 

Revised Cadet Sheridan & McCornack — The closure at the intersection of Schofield’s Cadet Sheridan Road and McCornack Road, weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for utility installation, had additional days added in order to complete supplementary work in the roadway.

McCornack isn’t accessible from Cadet Sheridan, but is accessible from Hewitt Street and Collier Loop.

Weekend work will only be done if absolutely necessary, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

This McCornack Road closure will not be closed during the same time as the Menoher Road closure. Appropriate signs and barriers will be posted for guidance.

 

Revised Lyman/Flagler — There are traffic modifications, weekdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m., at Schofield’s intersection of Lyman and Flagler to widen Lyman Road, add a dedicated left turn lane, and add traffic and pedestrian signals to the intersection, until Aug. 12.

Construction will be phased, so road widening will be performed first, providing an additional lane. The majority of the project will allow traffic to flow in both directions of Lyman and Flagler. Turns will be limited at the intersection to provide two lanes of traffic.

 

Airdrome Road — One-lane road closures along Wheeler’s Airdrome Road from the sewage treatment plant to the flight simulator continue weekdays, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., until June 30.
