Ayres — Road closures that began Monday on Schofield’s Ayres Avenue for curb and sidewalk upgrade will continue weekdays, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. until the end of August.


16 / Saturday

Tunnel Maintenance — The Likelike Highway will be closed, 7 p.m., to reopen at 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, July 17, for routine in the Honolulu-bound direction between Kahekili Highway and Valley View Drive, for tunnel maintenance and cleaning.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes such as the H-3 Freeway and Pali Highway. Roadwork is weather permitting.

TAMC Traffic — There will be closures of both lanes of Ward Road from Jarrett White Road, weekdays, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Jarrett White will be a two-way road for detours to lower parking lot entrance. This is the third phase of an ongoing project.

Power Outage GraphicShafter Outage — Buildings 220 and 222 will be without power, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., to support lightning protection. Note: the back-up generator will be disabled.

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS — Soldiers from the 25th Infantry Division run 5 miles from Leaders Field to the installation gate at the Kolekole Pass, May 1.

Division Run — The 25th Infantry Division will conduct a run, 6:15-8 a.m., on Schofield’s Trimble, Cadet Sheridan and Lyman Roads. All vehicular traffic should plan to use these roads before or after the run or use an alternate route to safely reach their destination. Call 655-8573 for more info.

Power Outage IconSchofield & WAAF Power Outages — The Schofield Barracks Canby Housing Area, units 601-628, Bldgs. 692 and 660 (Dental Clinic), will have a scheduled power outage, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., to support MEDCOM electrical upgrades.

Wheeler will also see an outage, 7 a.m.-3 p.m., affecting housing on Wiliwili and Langely Loop. The following units will be affected: 502, 508, 512, 514, 516, 518, 501, 503, 505, 507, 509, 511, 513, 515, 517, 519, 521, 523, 525, 527.




Noise Advisory — The Army and Marines are conducting artillery training at Schofield Barracks and noise may be heard by surrounding communities.

  • Now until July 31: Army Lightning Academy training with blank ammunition and

explosive simulators on East Range. Training is planned for both daytime and

nighttime hours. Army demolitions training concludes today.

  • July 25-29: Marine Corps mortar and artillery training. Training is planned

for both daytime and nighttime hours.

  • July 25-30: Army mortar training
  • July 30-31: Army demolitions training

Airdrome Closures — One-lane road closures from the sewage treatment plant to the flight simulator continue until the end of August on Wheeler’s Airdrome Road. The extension of this traffic control plan is due to revisions for continued discovery of unforeseen underground site conditions between the sewage treatment plant and new lift station.


Kubo, continued — A segment of Shafter’s Kubo Street will be intermittently closed concurrently with Palm Circle Drive, weekdays, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m., until Aug. 15. Flaggers will be posted at both ends of Kubo Street to facilitate 2-way traffic while Palm Circle Drive is closed. While the area is closed, traffic will be allowed to detour through the adjacent parking lot.


Modified Kaiona — There is a partial road closure on Schofield’s Kaiona Avenue for utility installation. The street will only be accessible from Lyman Road, with no access from Kolekole Avenue. The work will be performed weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., until July 20 (Weekend work only if absolutely necessary). Traffic will be detoured as necessary to any local traffic needing access to Kaiona.


C2F-MCF — Continuing work on the Command and Control Facility project is installing communication cables from Bldgs. 220, 118 and 103 to Bldg. A0600. Periodic roads and parking lot areas closures affected by this work are Chamberlain Road, Austin Road, Wisser Road, Pierce Street, Parks Road, Rice Street, Morton Drive, Carter Drive, Palm Circle Drive, Hyland Lane, Fort Shafter Street, roads near and around Bldgs. 223 and 252, “I” Place, Bonney Loop, Artillery Hill Road and Walker Drive. Expect slight delays while traveling in these areas and allow extra time. The installation work will require blocking off parking stalls around Bldgs 117, 118, 220 and 103 (mostly weekends). Work will continue, weekdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., until the end of August.


Low Bridge & Zip Lane — Town-bound lane closures, 6:30 p.m.-3:30 a.m. on the H-1 freeway, continue due to rail construction of a second balanced cantilever over the freeway. Military vehicles must exercise caution, as the height clearance gradually decreases from the inside to the shoulder lane. Closures will last until fall.


Kolekole Flow — There is a partial road closure of Kolekole Avenue fronting the Schofield Inn for the construction of drainage improvements to the area. The westbound traffic of Kolekole will be detoured onto Trimble Road northbound until Cadet Sheridan Road, where a left turn will be taken onto Cadet Sheridan southbound until it is returned to Kolekole. This detour will be in effect until Aug. 31, weekdays, 7 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.


Wisser Road — There are intermittent road and parking lot closures at Shafter’s Wisser Road (near Richardson Theater), weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., until Sept. 2, for the installation of a new water main line. The intersections of Strong and Pierce streets will be restricted to local traffic only. Richardson Theater and the adjacent parking lots will remain accessible by means of Casey Street.

Westbound traffic on Wisser Road heading towards Funston Road will be detoured through Bonney Loop. Eastbound traffic from Funston Road, heading towards the Exchange and Patch Gate, will be detoured through the west end of Bonney.


Revised Lyman/Flagler — There are traffic modifications, weekdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m., at Schofield’s intersection of Lyman and Flagler to widen Lyman Road, add a dedicated left turn lane, and add traffic and pedestrian signals to the intersection, until Aug. 12.

Construction will be phased, so road widening will be performed first, providing an additional lane. The majority of the project will allow traffic to flow in both directions of Lyman and Flagler. Turns will be limited at the intersection to provide two lanes of traffic.
