Power Outage Graphic

Scheduled Power Outage — Fort Shafter armory buildings 502, 505, 515 will experience a power outage, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for utility repairs.

8 / Monday

Change of Plans — There will be a road closure at the intersection of Schofield’s Cadet Sheridan and McCornack Roads for utility work. Work was initially scheduled to be done July 5-12, but due to an unexpected delay, it is now weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-3:30, Aug. 8-26 (weekend work only if absolutely necessary).

McCornack Road will not be accessible from Cadet Sheridan Road, but will be accessible from Hewitt Street and Collier Loop. Appropriate signs and barriers will be posted for guidance. For more information, see the attached map for traffic flow modifications.

Kolekole Detour — There will be a partial road closure of Kolekole Avenue fronting the Schofield Inn for the construction. The westbound traffic will be detoured onto Trimble Road northbound until the intersection with Cadet Sheridan Road, where a left turn will be taken onto Cadet Sheridan southbound until it is returned to Kolekole.

This detour will continue, weekdays, 8:30-1700, until Sept. 16. A message board will be placed on Kolekole prior to the roadwork notifying motorists of the upcoming detour.

15 / Monday

Revised Wisser — There are road closures at Wisser Road and Bonney Loop in the vicinity of Bldg. 520 for the installation of a new water main line, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., until Sept. 30.

  • Wisser and the intersection at Bonney will be closed, weekdays, between Pierce Street and 7th Street from today until Aug. 26.
  • Intermittent closures will follow from Aug. 29 to Sept. 30. The parking lot and Bonney Loop adjacent to Bldg. 520 will be restricted to local traffic only.

While the intersection of Bonney and Wisser is closed for construction, a flagger will be at the southern intersection of Bonney Loop and Pierce Street to facilitate access to Bldg. 520. A second flagger will be stationed farther up Bonney Loop to facilitate the movement of cars and pedestrians adjacent to Bldg. 520.

The parallel parking stalls along the Southern perimeter of the parking lot will be restricted to allow for two-way traffic movement.

  • When no work is being done at the intersection of Wisser and Bonney, it will be reopened and the road closure will be reduced.

Watch this space for updates.

22 / Monday

Park Place — Fort Shafter Flats will have parking lot closures off Signal Road for drain line work. Different portions of the lot will be closed off during the various phases of the work. This first phase continues until Aug. 29, and project should end Sept. 12.

Airdrome Closures — One-lane road closures from the sewage treatment plant to the flight simulator continue until the end of August on Wheeler’s Airdrome Road.

Kubo, Continued — A segment of Shafter’s Kubo Street will be intermittently closed concurrently with Palm Circle Drive, weekdays, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m., until Aug. 15. Flaggers will be posted at both ends of Kubo Street to facilitate two-way traffic while Palm Circle Drive is closed. While the area is closed, traffic will be allowed to detour through the adjacent parking lot.

C2F-MCF — Continuing work on the Command and Control Facility project is installing communication cables from Bldgs. 220, 118 and 103 to Bldg. A0600. Periodic roads and parking lot areas closures affected by this work are Chamberlain Road, Austin Road, Wisser Road, Pierce Street, Parks Road, Rice Street, Morton Drive, Carter Drive, Palm Circle Drive, Hyland Lane, Fort Shafter Street, roads near and around Bldgs. 223 and 252, “I” Place, Bonney Loop, Artillery Hill Road and Walker Drive.

Expect slight delays while traveling in these areas and allow extra time. The installation work will require blocking off parking stalls around Bldgs. 117, 118, 220 and 103 (mostly weekends). Work will continue, weekdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., until the end of August.

Low Bridge & Zip Lane — Town-bound lane closures, 6:30 p.m.-3:30 a.m., on the H-1 freeway, continue due to rail construction of a second balanced cantilever over the freeway. Military vehicles must exercise caution, as the height clearance gradually decreases from the inside to the shoulder lane. Closures will last until fall.

Kolekole Flow — There is a partial road closure of Kolekole Avenue fronting the Schofield Inn for the construction of drainage improvements to the area. The westbound traffic of Kolekole will be detoured onto Trimble Road northbound until Cadet Sheridan Road, where a left turn will be taken onto Cadet Sheridan southbound until it is returned to Kolekole. This detour will be in effect until Aug. 31, weekdays, 7 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Revised Lyman/Flagler — There are traffic modifications, weekdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m., at Schofield’s intersection of Lyman and Flagler to widen Lyman Road, add a dedicated left turn lane, and add traffic and pedestrian signals to the intersection, until Aug. 12.
