Toussaint takes responsibility as new Pacific Ocean Division command sergeant major

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii — Command Sgt. Maj. Patrickson Toussaint became the command sergeant major of the Pacific Ocean Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in a change of responsibility ceremony, May 4, on Palm Circle, here.

Toussaint was most recently the command sergeant major for the 130th Engineer Brigade, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, from July 2016 to April 2018.

Command Sgt. Maj. Yolanda S. Tate relinquished responsibility from the Pacific Ocean Division post she had filled since Dec. 2015 and will be retiring from active duty later this year.

Pacific Ocean Division Commander Brig. Gen. Thomas J. Tickner thanked Tate for her outstanding support to all service members and civilians. He said Tate’s role as the senior enlisted Soldier for the Division was critical in providing support to both service members and civilians.

In his appointed role CSM Toussaint will support four USACE districts across the Pacific, in Honolulu, Japan, Korea, and Alaska. He will provide advice and counsel to the Commanding General and senior staff on all matters affecting the operation of the organization.

He also represents the command to customers and stakeholders supported by the Division. Additionally, CSM Toussaint will be responsible for the professional development, discipline, moral and quality of life of all Soldiers and civilians assigned to the Division.

Command Sgt. Maj. Toussaint is also a recipient of the Silver Order of the de Fleury Medal.
