Scholarships for Military Children entries due Feb. 15
Students should be finishing up their preparations to apply for one of the 500 available $2000 Fisher House Foundation Scholarships for Military Children, as the deadline is approaching. Applications are being accepted through Friday, Feb. 15.

Operation Holiday Heroes provides gifts at Fisher House, Monday
This Monday, Dec. 14th at 4 p.m., Hannah and Jackson Button (ages 15 and 17), and their helpers, will be making Christmas brighter for 19 families of sick, injured or wounded Soldiers and veterans.

Premier volunteers honored for service
Throughout the nation, Soldiers and their civilian counterparts volunteer and give selfless service to their country by taking the time out to help others and their communities.

Run, walk or roll event honors fallen service members
“I wanted to do a unique run that would raise awareness, but also bring the personal names and faces back,” Johnson said. “What we did was we created the run, and we had a picture of each fallen service member on the boot that you run past. After the run is over, we pick them up, and there will actually be a display of the 7,000 all at once.”

IMCOM region leadership forum fosters teenagers
Twenty-six teenagers gathered in Hawaii, not to swim and snorkel, but to develop their leadership and team-building skills during the 2015 Installation Management Command-Pacific Region Youth Leadership Forum, June 13-18.

Ceremony recognizes importance of military in Hawaii
Elected officials, business leaders and military personnel gathered at the state capitol, Friday, to formally declare May to be Military Appreciation Month at a ceremony co-hosted by Hawaii Gov. David Ige and the Hawaii Military Affairs Council.
