There is a street market to celebrate the parade:
From 3pm till 9pm Kapolei puts on a festive street market, to coincide with the Christmas parade. The street market features a wide variety of food wagons as well as free live entertainment. Which will keep you entertained before and after the main event, the Christmas parade.
Over 10,000 individuals flock to the Kapolei Christmas Parade every year:
Once you’ve grabbed a bite to eat at the street market, try to find the perfect spot to watch the parade from as early as you can. As each year, the Kapolei Christmas Parade draws around 10,000 spectators.
The parade starts at 6pm:
The Kapolei Christmas Parade sets off from Kapolei Middle School and makes it way to its final destination, the intersection of Kama’aha Ave and Kapolei Parkway. Which is located by Kapolei Hale. So it’s well worth trying to find a spot, between these two locations.
It offers spectacular floats:
As the Kapolei Christmas parade is well supported by generous sponsors, expect to see spectacular floats of all shapes and sizes.
There is a tree lighting ceremony 7.30 pm:
After the parade itself finishes, make sure to stick around for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Which takes place at 7.30pm. You’ll find the tree lighting ceremony at Kapolei Hale. Which is located next to the end of the parade’s finishing route.
Visit Santa’s Village if you have children:
If you have children, head to the Christmas festivities early, so that your children will be able to take part in fun, kid-friendly activities at Santa’s village. Some examples of which include arts and crafts and Christmas themed games. If your kids are lucky, they may even win a prize, for winning a game. Of course, your kids will also be able to say hi to Santa and tell Santa what’s on their Christmas list.
So if you’ve never attended the annual Kapolei Christmas Lights Parade, it’s well worth joining in on the festivities and exploring the street market and Santa’s Village, before watching the main event, the parade.
