The tripler labor and delivery tour has three primary objectives. The first of which is to allow expectant parents to get familiar with the labor and delivery ward. The second key objective of the tour is to help prepare expectant mothers for the process of delivering a baby. It’s highly recommend that expectant first time mothers and fathers sign up for this informative tour. Finally, the third objective of the tour is to give pregnant women detailed information on what to expect, when they first go into labor. Which should help alleviate their fears about the process of giving birth for the first time.

If you plan to take the tour, ensure to register and sign in at the admissions office. Which is located on the first floor of the building, by the primary information desk.

What will you learn?

During your tour you’ll learn about the key signs that you’re about to go into labor. Which include regular contractions, ruptured membrane, passage of the mucous plug and feeling your baby “drop lower”.

You’ll also learn some of the key differences between a true labor and a false labor. Some examples of symptoms of a false labor include discomfort in your lower abdomen and a cervix which has not dilated. While some symptoms of a true labor include contractions which occur at regular intervals, contractions which slowly get closer together and discomfort in your back and abdomen.

You’ll also discover what items you should pack in your hospital bag. Some examples of which include a book or magazine to keep yourself occupied if you have time to kill, your photo ID card, a pair of comfortable slippers and a copy of your birth plan.

Expectant father’s will also learn how they can best supporting their partner when she’s going into labor.
